Gran Reserva

In the heart of the Ebro valley in Rioja, just outside the famous wine town of Logrono, Marques de Vargas is situated. Consisting of a single, large vineyard, covering over 65 hectares, all of which are extremely well located and produces benchmark Riojas. Under the expert stewardship of the La Mata family the wines have maintained a traditional Rioja identity but have their own individual personality achieved though a combination of meticulous husbandry in the vineyards and a fine attention to detail in the winery. Marqués de Vargas started out with a philosophy inspired by the French Châteaux, exclusively producing Reserva and Gran Reserva premium fine wines using grapes from its own vineyards next to the winery. Limited production each year, with a regional character and the singularity and identity of its unique terroir.

This generous red delivers plum and currant flavors, wrapped in cocoa, cigar box and sandalwood notes. Firm tannins and balsamic acidity support the plush texture. Offers a good balance of fruity and savory elements.
