Royal Salute was launched by Chivas Brothers on 2 June 1953 in tribute to Queen Elizabeth II on the day of her coronation as a luxury Scotch whisky brand. It takes its name from the traditional 21-gun salute and fittingly, Royal Salute whiskey are aged for a minimum of 21 years. This prestige whisky is distilled at the legendary Strathisla Distillery, which is now Chivas Brothers primary operating centre, but was originally founded in 1786 and holds the incredible distinction of being the oldest working distillery in the Highlands of Scotland.

Continuing the proud Royal Salute legacy of creating the finest blended Scotch whiskies, The Key To The Kingdom comprises a variety of expertly selected whiskies gathered from all over Scotland, each aged for a minimum of 30 years. The Key To The Kingdom takes its name from the Ceremony of the Keys. Held annually in Edinburgh at the gates of the iconic Hollyrood Palace, the official residence of the British Monarchy, this revered ceremony symbolises freedom and honour, and is one of the proudest rituals in British Royal tradition.

Initially sweet and fruity on the nose, with notes of ripe juicy pears, blood orange and thick set honey. These give way to toasted oak, dried red-currents and subtle wisps of bonfire smoke. Palate gives hints of subtle sweet smoke, candied walnuts, peaches in syrup and delicate ginger spice, this 30-Year-Old blend is the epitome of elegance and sophistication. Long finish with enduring sweet smokey notes.
