Tua Rita was founded in 1984, in the heart of the Tuscan hills, in Suvereto, from an idea by Rita Tua and Virgilio Bisti. Originally purchased as a small property with a few hectares of vineyards, the company has grown rapidly to what it is today, with a production of approximately 300,000 bottles per year. Tua Rita's philosophy is based on the production of high quality wines, with a strong connection to the territory and careful attention to detail in every phase of production.

It is a pure Merlot that owes its name to a small stream that flows near the property. When in 1994 Rita and Virgilio set aside two barrels of Merlot from production, they perhaps did not think they had created what would become an international cult wine. From those vines planted in 1988, in the heart of the estate on a slight slope, an exceptional fruit was born. Their location, soil composition and micro-climate in their combination had given birth to this unique wine.

Deep ruby red with violet reflections. The bouquet is multi-layered with hints of wild berries and blackberries, ripe cherries, but also liquorice and tobacco notes. Very structured and lively on the palate. The silky tannins emphasize the delicate minerality right through to the almost endless finish.
