Tanqueray was founded in 1830 by Charles Tanqueray, a young clergyman's son who abandoned the Church, whilst in his early 20s, to follow his passion for distilling. Tanqueray began distilling gin in a small brewery in London and soon became known for producing some of the finest gin available. Tanqueray is one of the most popular gins on the market and is known for its distinctively clean, crisp flavor. Tanqueray is made with four key botanicals: juniper, coriander, angelica root, and liquorice.

Furthering the legacy of the original London Dry recipe, Tanqueray No. 10 sets the standard as the first ultra-premium gin. Distilled in small batches with the four original botanicals of London Dry and the addition of fresh whole grapefruits, oranges, limes and chamomile flowers, Tanqueray Nº Ten Gin brings an explosion of fresh citrus with every sip.

The palate of Tanqueray No. 10 certainly traditional in a lot of respects. Juniper is the star, with a lovely pine note that lasts through the finish. Coriander, too. But what sets it apart and what really elevates its appeal for cocktail craft is that creamy, almost slightly buttery mid-palate where the citrus jumps forward. Lots of orange and lime, but there’s this suggestive vanilla buttercream tinge to it.
