The Dalmore Luminary 16YO 2024 Edition No2

Dalmore distillery was built in 1839 by Alexander Matheson, who immediately leased it to the Sunderland family, who ran it for over thirty years until 1869, when the lease was taken over by three Mackenzie brothers, Alexander, Charles and Andrew. For over 150 years, The Dalmore has set the standard in multi cask maturation. Hand selected casks, from the world's finest bodegas and wineries are expertly curated to create a sumptuous and layered whisky of legendary finesse. The Dalmore house style derives from a close and trusted relationship that was forged with sherry house González Byass over 100 years ago. The rare casks are exclusive to The Dalmore. These casks enrich the signature chocolate and orange character of whisky with rich and nutty flavors.

Dalmore's Master Whisky Maker Gregg Glass collaborated with Melodie Leung of Zaha Hadid Architects to conceive this limited edition release. Matured in American white oak ex-Bourbon casks, the single malt is finished in Graham’s Tawny Port barrels and 30YO Apostoles Sherry casks, with the lightest touch of exceptionally rare peated Dalmore. Each bottle is housed in a stunning contemporary presentation case, evoking a bird's eye perspective of The Luminary No.2 Rare sculpture, similar to a vortex. Inspired by the whisky stills, the design is rich with texture and warm copper colors. 

Aromas of manuka honey, crème brûlée and antique leather with delicate tropical notes of pomegranate, guava and cherry blossom. On the palate, this exceptional whisky enjoys ripe figs, Seville oranges, forest fruits, passion fruit, lightly roasted Colombian coffee, fermented black limes and brioche. Sweet wood spices and dark cacao on the finish with a delicate whisper of herbal wood smoke.
