The Glenrothes Ancestors Reserve

Glenrothes was built in order to produce a cleaner, fresher spirit for blending. Together with four investors and a loan from the Church of Scotland, the distillery was established in 1879. Using a mixture of wooden and steel washbacks, Glenrothes is known for its complex malts, often requiring time in glass to fully open. Expanded upon twice, the distillery now boasts an impressive ten stills, producing over five million litres per annum.

Ancestors Reserve is a tribute to the master distillers and all those who share the Glenrothes heritage with a warm welcome. This exceptional single malt matures for 25 years in a careful selection of American and Spanish oak casks. This long maturation process gives the whisky an impressive depth and complexity, impressively showcasing the character and tradition of the Glenrothes distillery and making it a true masterpiece.
