Bouchard Père et Fils is a sizable and historic Burgundy wine estate, based in Beaune. The largest vineyard owner in the Côte d'Or, it produces more than 100 wines mostly made from Pinot Noir or Chardonnay. These unique and exceptional holdings enable them to produce very pure expressions of the many different terroirs. This producer and négociant business is one of the oldest wine estates in Burgundy, founded in 1731.
Corton-Charlemagne is a Grand Cru appellation for white wines, predominantly Chardonnay, produced across much of the top portion of the oval-shaped Montagne de Corton hill, in the Côte de Beaune district of Burgundy.
Pale, bright yellow. Subtle floral lift to the aromas of lemon, lime, menthol and chalky minerality. Dense, tactile, dry and deep, conveying a solid impression without any heaviness. Citrus peel, lavender and subtle nutmeg flavors show lovely mineral firmness and grip for the year. Finishes with sneaky rising length, pungent citrus fruits and crushed-rock minerality. Really leaves the taste buds quivering. This surprisingly smooth Corton-Charlemagne is built for a graceful evolution in bottle.
