Château Giscours is a well-regarded wine estate in the Margaux appellation of the Haut-Médoc region just north of Bordeaux city. It was rated as a third growth in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification and, since the 1990s, it has moved from being a Merlot-dominant wine to a more long-lived blend, typically of 75 percent Cabernet Sauvignon.
The exceptional terroir of Château Giscours blooms on 83 hectares of vines, in the heart of a beautiful Margaux appellation. Permanent care is provided to the vine during the seasons and the plot selection is constantly refined thanks to important investments in the vineyard. Raised in oak barrels of high quality, the wine acquires over the months its complexity.
Currants, cedar, tobacco leaves, smoke, flowers, and spice aromatics open up the wine. On the palate. the wine is fresh, vibrant, silky, and displays a nice spicy touch to the ripe plums and currants that sticks all the way through to the finish.
