Château Laroze

Château Laroze has been a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé since the first classification in 1955 and is the historic product of the property. The estate was named a Grand Cru Classé in the original 1955 Saint-Émilion classification. It has retained this status throughout each successive iteration (the classification is reviewed roughly every decade) of the classification. The estate now encompasses 27 hectares (67 acres) of vines on silica-clay soils surrounding the château. Plantings are 68 percent Merlot with 26 percent Cabernet Franc, and six percent Cabernet Sauvignon.

The superb 2018 vintage is characterised by aromas of black fruit (particularly blueberry) and very tasty red fruit, enhanced by floral fragrances, reminiscent of violet. Its consistent palate is structured by firm tannins, which provide a framework that supports the aromatic power of this wine into a very persistent finish. Everything is there for an elegant, generous wine with tremendous potential for age.
