Cloudy Bay is one of the most famous producers of the Marlborough wine region in New Zealand. It was established in 1985 as one of the first producers of Marlborough and today, the flagship Sauvignon Blanc is one of the country's most sought-after wines. Marlborough has a strong maritime climate with some of the longest sunshine hours of anywhere in the country, ideal for ripening grapes with concentrated flavor compounds. The estate was started in 1985 by David Hohnen, the founder of Cape Mentelle Vineyards in Western Australia's Margaret River region. Hohnen sold Cloudy Bay to Veuve Clicquot in 1990. In 2003, Veuve Clicquot was purchased by the multinational luxury group, LVMH.

Te Koko is a sophisticated, unique expression of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Its striking flavors reveal the surprising flavors and hidden depths of our signature variety. Te Koko ferments in French oak barrels with indigenous yeasts, gaining complexity over four to five months. The wine then rests in barrel on fine lees for 15 months before blending and maturation in Cloudy Bay’s cellars.

The nose is nuanced, with citrus, stone fruits and savory notes of soft wood-smoke. On the layered palate, mellow oak and mineral characters are balanced by the vibrant acidity and freshness of citrus and conference pear. A long and elegant finish draws together this dense, powerful example of Sauvignon Blanc.
