Domaine Faiveley is one of the largest and most illustrious domaines in Burgundy, and has made its name with red wines made from the Pinot Noir grape. It was founded in 1825 in the village of Nuits-Saint-Georges under Joseph Faiveley, a wine merchant who had a desire for travel. In the beginning of the 19th Century, trade had begun between Burgundy and northern Europe, predominantly along the rivers and canals connecting the regions.
Les Cazetiers is one of the most highly regarded Premier Cru vineyards in the Gevrey-Chambertin commune. Les Cazetiers is among the most elevated of the Premier Cru sites in the commune – and indeed the whole of Burgundy – with its top edge reaching 370m.
Deep ruby red hue with an intense and complex nose characterized by red fruits, toast and subtle roasted notes. The palate is rich and round with a firm structure and direct tannins. This remarkably powerful wine offers a silky mouthfeel and exceptional length.
