Frescobaldi is a historic Italian wine producer located in Tuscany. It has several estates spread throughout the region. The history of Frescobaldi dates back to the early 1300s, when the family began making wine at Tenuta di Castigliona, southwest of Florence. It became famous in the 1400s for supplying wines to Renaissance artists like Donatello, and Frescobaldi wines were served to the Papal Court and the English Court of King Henry VIII.

The wine was conceived with the 1983 harvest and has since been produced in the most favorable years. Mormoreto is a wine with a vibrant character, which knows how to express finesse, harmony and an admirable longevity. The aging time is 24 months in new barriques and part of a year followed by a further period of 6 months in the bottle.

Clear ruby-red color that is beautifully rich and concentrated. It is pleasantly fresh with a bouquet that hints of blackberries, blueberries and raspberries. On the palate, balsamic and minty notes balance out beautifully with hints of bergamot and jasmine. Spicy notes of clove and vanilla are just around the corner. Tertiary aromas of tobacco, cocoa powder and coffee bean are remarkably well-integrated. The taste is smooth yet wonderfully fresh, with silky, well-rounded tannins. The finish is long and persistent.
