John Duval, former winemaker of Penfolds, is a producer of highly acclaimed wines in small quantities from the Barossa Valley. It was founded in 2003. For over 100 years, the family supplied grapes to South Australia’s best winemakers. Knowledge of the vineyard handed down through five generations, allied with a 30 year career at the pinnacle of Australian winemaking, are the foundations of John Duval Wines. Each wine made from fruit sourced exclusively from exceptional old Barossa vineyards, distinctive style defined by elegance and structure.

Grenache grapes to produce this wine was sourced from two very old, low yielding vineyards, 90% from an Eden Valley ancestor vineyard over 150 years old and 10% from bush vines in the Northern Barossa Valley.

Very floral, raspberry rope, raspberry, liqorice. Deep, but medium-bodied, flood of smooth and silty tannin, intensity of red fruit and spice flavor – the old velvet fog here – sage and perfume on an a long and polished finish.
