Château Latour is one of Bordeaux's – and the world's – most famous wine producers. It is situated in the southeast corner of the Pauillac commune on the border of Saint-Julien, in the Medoc region. Rated as a First Growth in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, it has become one of the most sought-after and expensive wine producers on the planet, and produces powerfully structured Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant wines capable of lasting many decades.
Les Forts de Latour takes its name from an historic plot in the Enclos vineyard. The wine was first labelled with this name in 1966 and constant work on developing its quality has resulted in its achieving the level of a Medoc Grand Cru Classé. Coffee, oak, earth, blackberry and licorice, the wine is dense, concentrated and lush. There has a strong Pauillac character, with stunning intensity and purity of fruit. With round tannins, supple textures and a long creamy crème de cassis filled finish.
