Jochen Dreissigacker has caused a considerable stir both in his native Germany and abroad, winning high praise and points wherever his wines are sold. His 45 hectares of vineyards are based in the Rheinhessen, which is currently undergoing what might be termed a 'Rheinhessen revival', with Jochen at its forefront. From the 2010 vintage, Jochen's wines all have organic certification and he also uses biodynamic methods for much of his estate (although he has chosen not to be certified). Wines from Dreissigacker stand for the highest quality, a long aging period under perfect conditions and, above all, for pure aromas.

The grapes for the Wunderwerk Riesling come from the biodynamically cultivated top locations in Bechtheim and Westhofen - Geyersberg, Kirchspiel and Morstein. Fermented with the help of natural yeasts, the Dreissigacker Wunderwerk Riesling was aged 30% in large wooden barrels and 70% in stainless steel tanks. The yeast storage for one year and the storage in the bottle for another four years give this Riesling a special harmony and power. The latter also comes from the aging in wood. This gives the wine additional depth and complexity.

On the nose lime aromas are mixed with herbs and passion fruit. More conventional on the palate with ripe apples, apricot and pear dominating the flavors though accompanied by a herbal structure and a Riesling trademark minerality and high acidity. Fruit, complexity and the Riesling-typical acidity are emphasized by the expansion in stainless steel and complement each other wonderfully with the harmony of the portion expanded in wood.
