Chardonnay Cuvee Alyce

Walter Hansel Winery is a wine producer based in the Russian River Valley region of Sonoma Country, California and was established in the late 1970s. Walter Hansel himself started with 257 Chardonnay vines planted in the Russian River Valley in the 1970s. The first commercially-available vintage was released in 1996, and today the estate's Sonoma County vineyards cover 80 hectares.

Hansel Estate Vineyard-Cuvee Alyce has the highest elevation of the Hansel estate vineyards with gravel and sandy soils. All the grapes are hand harvested and manually sorted-once in the vineyard and once at the sorting table in the winery. The Chardonnay is whole-cluster pressed into French oak for fermentation. 

Cuvée Alyce opens slowly to lovely aromas of warm peaches and apricots with accents of toast, roasted almonds and honey. The medium-bodied palate is silky, super concentrated, layered and fresh, cut through with uplifting mineral character and finishing very, very long.
